Scripture

2 Peter 1:3-4

3According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

God Created Sin?

I recently had a close friend state that "God created sin," because God created all things. And because they quoted scripture stating that God created all things, to her line of logic, this statement was true. Then, to my irritation and extreme frustration, I could come up with no logical argument why this thought wasn't so. On the surface, it appeared logical.

Now I know that God didn't create sin. The bible is very clear on this. "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin;" (2 Cor. 5:21) Jesus "knew no sin." This word 'knew' means 'intimate knowledge of'.  (The Greek word for 'knew', ginosko, is a Jewish idiom for sexual intercourse.)

What this scripture tells us is that sin was not apart of Jesus' nature. We also know that Jesus is the same as God the Father,
"If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him." (John 14:7)
Therefore we know that God the Father also is without sin.

Yet how do I argue against this awful, heretical reasoning of 'God created sin?'

I was milling this question over when God prompted me to look up the definition of the word 'sin'.
Sin, according to its definition, is an immoral act considered to be a transgression against divine law. (emphasis mine)
According to the definition, sin is an action. God does not act contrary to his own law.  The bible says in Psalms 138:2 "...for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name." Remember that God's spoken word is law. (Psalms 89:34) (Heb. 1:3)

God also reminded me of the law of seed time and harvest. Or conception and birth. Everything ever created or birthed by God (or by man), the Earth, the stars even miracles, first had to be conceived. God knew the intimate details of what he wanted to create before he created it. You could say he "knew" the idea before it became manifest.

So, if God had to 'know' something before he created it and if God 'knew' no sin; you can now see how it is impossible for God to have created sin.

Remember that Satan is a master liar. He is "the father of all lies." He knows how to mix the right amount of truth with a lie to make the lie appear as correct and logical thinking. We must not take what other people say about the word as the word. We must examine every thought and idea that sets itself up against the word of God.
